    They are holding my money now for 6 days with no idea when i will get it back.     Deposited checks from tenant in another state into my account . I was aware that I would need to wait for funds to clear , however, did not know that this included putting a hold on funds that were previously in the account.     Sun Trust Hunters Creek Branch As I was directed by the Secret Service Agent, I immediately went to the local Sun Trust Branch office and told the manager that I had been directed by the Secret Service to talk to her.     Suntrust is the worst bank ever !! we deposit 2 payroll checks into our personal acct. thru the drive thru and from there to there proofing department they lose 1 of the checks so they debit the acct.     I learned the hard way that SunTrust customer service 800# is not open 24 hrs. What happens if there is a security emergency like a lost or stolen card. Well you have to wait until 6 AM the following day to contact them. By the way, when you call the 800# it requires you to answer questions and then, you get a message that they are closed.     I went to Sun Trust because they had commercials asking you to open an account there if your bank was bought out. They said they had real time and they don't. I signed up for free checking and checks but when the $5 ATM fee came up, I was told I could switch to another account. When the fee was waived, all of the account types were changed.     I went into Suntrust on December 29, 2011 to open a Checking Account. AThe Teller opened the account and took my payroll check as my first deposit. The Teller was very attentive and very helpful at that time.     Banking with Suntrust and have a credit card with them. Pay my balance on time every momth at a teller so I have a record. Use checking account to transfer payment. Went to use it at the grocery store today $250 worth of groceries. Declined! Why because they show no record of it and it takes 5 business days to release my funds.     I am a second year undergraduate and i live almost 1029 miles away from home and the only way i receive money from my family is thru my sun trust account, but recently they have been hitting me with all these 36.00 fees for going over my account for just a couple of cents, and i do mean cents. last Friday i went over .18 cents and my account was hit with a 36.00 fee.     6/20/10 In my case they made my account negative by charging first fees, then credited the wire amount that came in. At the branch, under Kevin Henderson as store manager, they told me the wired money were available, and of course I withdrew the money.     I'm very unhappy with SunTrust at the moment. A year and a half ago I opened a checking account with my savings as overdraft protection. I must say that it has been the worst experience that I have ever had, being harrassed by the collection department. Both autos are 2005 and there has never been a missed payment.     I have been running 30 days late on my car payment. I admit this. This happened because in November 2007 I requested a one-month extension on my car loan. I was having major surgery and my husband wanted to be with me in Nashville. With limited resources, I had to request an extension.     I have been a member of SunTrust for more that 15 years.     I am appalled at the overdraft fees at this bank. They are outrageous. They are stealing money from the poor to middle class who are having enough problems in this economy. This happened last year. My wife was helping her friend with her finances after she lost her husband to cancer. My wife's friend's husband had the for sight to have excellent life insurance policies and work benifits, so is family was taken care of.

Most of their personal accounts were at Suntrust. She decided to cancel the old accounts and move some money to another bank. The branch manager told her she needed a death certificate to do this. Fine, understandable, she got it and went back. Then he said she needed more documents. Her an my wife made two additional trips to the courthouse. Then he still insisted on more documents while trying to talk her in leaving all the money in Suntrust. Finally, the forth or so trip to the courthouse, the magistrate said she did not need half the documents she had gotten for this, and the one the branch manager sent her after the last time didn't exist in our state. My wifes friend was close to breaking down at this point. The magistrate called the branch manager and threatened to send a sherrif down there to haul him out in handcuffs if he did not comply.

The last trip to that branch (three days later), everything was fine and the money was released. Suntrust lost all the money at that point :) I found it disgusting the way this woman was treated. I wished they had hauled some of the bank employees off to jail. They deserved no less.

I am getting to understand how the employees at Suntrust are taught to earn fees for the company. I received a check for 2000.00 from Workmans Comp for an advance on a settlement. I received the check and for the next 3 days the lobby of the bank was closed. Part of the check was being used for a closing on a mobile home that I had just purchased. I took the check to the bank and after waiting 20 minutes to talk to the Branch Manager to have him make the check good on the spot at least for the amount needed for the closing which was 699.50. He refused to do so, first by stating that he did not feel comfortable clearing a 2000 dollar check, then He stated that it was bank policy to not clear any types of checks the same day. It was only becasue the bank lobby was closed for 3 days in a row that I was now in this position. He was very rude!! I told him that due to his bank being closed, I had used almost all of the money in my account and that now I might have to pay an overdraft fee if I needed any money today. He seemed pleased by that. I then asked him if he could just release 100 dollars on the 2000 check and he stated he could not. So not only will he not help me, he is being totally rude about it. This brqanch is in clearwater, florida and tha branch manager 's name is Justin Durand. Stay away, he is not customer friendly and should not be in the position that he is in. It will come back to him, you cant treat people like this and get away with it. He did have the authority to clear my check, he did not want to clear it.

I have been a SunTrust customer for 15 years often with tens of thousands of dollars in checking. Recently they advertised an offer to put $100 in my account if I had them automatically make 3 payments for 3 months. I signed up and have been for 7 months. When I asked why no $100, they said payments had not been made for 1 month of the specified time. THE PAYMENTS WERE AUTOMATIC! THEY DID NOT SEND THEM! SO NO $100. What a rip!

Welcome to SUN-Trust, they should be taken to the cleaners for using the name Trust in their bank, they seem to lack the ability to be real, I have had money changed into different accounts without warning over a period of years, I have lost thousands of dollars of interest because they moved money from investment accounts into zero interest accounts, and I only found out after a year. They are souless, if I could I would do everything in my power to shut them down, I never got any apologies - just arrogant and unfriendly and unhelpful responses. SUN Trust Executive, you should be ashamed of the complete failure of your bank to care for it's customers. You epitomise the worst side of business, no integrity, no care for the very people you exist to serve. You are served to protect peoples money, not screw them over without remorse.

I have been a customer with SunTrust for about 8 years now. Times have been tough and I have overdrawn in my account, since the last overdraft I have been making sure everything is better budgeted. Last night I went and checked my account online and saw $584.00 available but this morning when I woke up I was negative because of two charges one for 7.48 and another for 10.54 I knew I was going to be overdrawn and took responsibility for it but they charged me over $200 for those two transactions. I called and complained and was told even if we have the money to clear3 of six transactions in pending we get charged for all. I was in shock I was being charged for items in pending still because my husband direct deposit was in pending as well and could clear all the items, so why can they charge you for items in pending but not credit you for having the money in there? Also I use my on-line banking to tract my transactions but they show available money after each transaction not collective, so I view available but they see negative. I asked why isn’t the information I see online they same at what you see and they said to better serve them.

Suntrust helped keep all of us in our home. I was taking care of a disabled adult in the home and over time my career and my life fell apart. If Suntrust was not there to help all of us would of been on the street. Thank You from the bottom of my heart for saving our home and our life!
