My whole paycheck gone because there on-line security didn't work. someone scammed my card info when I went school shopping and bought Washington National tickets at Ticket master on line for 1140.00. Hello I live in Fla. I never once got a phone call telling me anything about it I called them when I got my text massage for account balance. I had 500.00 in the account. I called them she said it takes 7 to 10 days to get money back, when we all know it will take longer but they will still make me wait the 10... More...

  • Locked account

Deposited checks from tenant in another state into my account . I was aware that I would need to wait for funds to clear , however, did not know that this included putting a hold on funds that were previously in the account. Long story short, suntrust locked my account, online, ATM, phone info etc. without notifying me about anything. after several phone calls and a visit to a branch I am still not sure what is going on. The last individual I spoke with on mon April 8 informed me that my account was closed due to fraudulent activity and I should receive a check in the mail. However she... More...

  • Perpetrated Fraud and Stole from My Account

Sun Trust Hunters Creek Branch As I was directed by the Secret Service Agent, I immediately went to the local Sun Trust Branch office and told the manager that I had been directed by the Secret Service to talk to her. She was at a greeting station and was shuffling papers and had me wait for several minutes before deigning to see me to her office. The Branch Manager%u2019s name was Rosemary Carvajal (407-858-1268) and she was polite, calm and listened to what I had to say. I acknowledged that I was agitated from the insanity of this and the total lack of help, advice or assistance I had... More...

On monday morning we take our deposit reciept to the bank and we are told that yes they lost they check but there is nothing they can do about it and suggest that our employer pay for stop payment on check. • SunTrust Customer Service Closed

I learned the hard way that SunTrust customer service 800# is not open 24 hrs. What happens if there is a security emergency like a lost or stolen card. Well you have to wait until 6 AM the following day to contact them. By the way, when you call the 800# it requires you to answer questions and then, you get a message that they are closed. Now that's what I call customer respect. I closed my account and moved all my business to a Credit Union that has 24 hr. Customer service. More...

I went to Sun Trust because they had commercials asking you to open an account there if your bank was bought out. They said they had real time and they don't. I signed up for free checking and checks but when the $5 ATM fee came up, I was told I could switch to another account. When the fee was waived, all of the account types were changed. Deposits and debits float around for days because they only post Monday through Friday after midnight. More...

  • A Nightmare

I went into Suntrust on December 29, 2011 to open a Checking Account. AThe Teller opened the account and took my payroll check as my first deposit. The Teller was very attentive and very helpful at that time. She explained to how to setup my online banking and also told me that I would be able to see the deposit online the following day Friday December 30, 2011, but the funds would not be available until Satuday morning December 31,2011.  Here's where it gets interesting! Keep in mind I deposited my paycheck. When I received the access code to setup my Online Banking on Friday... More...

  • Credit card

Banking with Suntrust and have a credit card with them. Pay my balance on time every momth at a teller so I have a record. Use checking account to transfer payment. Went to use it at the grocery store today $250 worth of groceries. Declined! Why because they show no record of it and it takes 5 business days to release my funds. However, if I pay $82 to them now they will allow me to use my credit line. Isn't that special? Which means they will collect more money from me! I don't understand why this week is the issue when it is done the exact same way every month whether... More...

  • Flustered in Orlando

I am totally disgusted with Suntrust. I have - well, had -four accounts with them for many years now. I have closed two accounts recently, due to their upcoming and looming personal checking fees that are coming down the pike. PS - If you don't know about their new fees, you live under a rock and should take immediate action to correct this! In any instance, to avoid their new fees, one of their bankers told me that the way around the fees is to apply for their credit card and just charge it up every month. And so I applied for their card, fully disclosing to the banker that my... More...

I have been a customer of Suntrust Bank (formerly CCB)for 11 years and had hoped the new fees would be reconsidered.I have several accounts and also use my debit card regularly for paying bills and misc.,so I regretfully have to close my accounts. It's just too much with a couple of checking and savings accounts for my family and the debit card fees as well.I really hate to leave my Suntrust family but what I save in fees can be used to take care of my own family. • SunTrust Is Worst Bank Ever!

SunTrust has to be the worst bank ever! I made the mistake of switching to SunTrust after Bank Of America started feeing their customers to death. As it turns out, SunTrust is even more unscrupulous than BOA between all their fees, unethical banking practices and absolutely horrible customer service, or should I say lacktherof. They messed my account up numerous times, due to employee errors, and every time had to fight with them to get things fixed. This last time around they messed it up so bad that all my money was gone and eaten up in numerous overdraft fees for a transaction I did... More...

  • SunTrust Robs Their Customers

I have had my account information compromised 2 times at this bank. The first time the lady helped me with closing my account, but the second time was something different...the guy DID NOT do the job the same as the lady, therefore, even AFTER I CLOSED MY ACCOUNT AND THE ACCOUNT HAD A CLOSED STATUS, something tried to clear my account and guess who's responsible for the overdraft fee...ME!! Never again will I bank at SunTrust nor will I recommend anyone to bank here either. Seems like every employee should follow the same guidelines when it comes to serving their customers. I felt as... I opened a new account with Suntrust a few weeks ago in order to have my tax refund direct deposited into it. The actual refund was for my fiancee' /common law husband (we had been together for about 16 years. I live in Georgia). We have an 11 year old son. My fiancee' passed away last September unexpectedly. He said goodnight, went to bed and never woke up the next morning. He was only 37 and never sick at all. He had always been very healthy. Anyway, He had no will. Georgia law states that all money or property of his goes to his son. I did his taxes through Turbo Tax and filed... More...

  • Insufficient fees

6/20/10 In my case they made my account negative by charging first fees, then credited the wire amount that came in. At the branch, under Kevin Henderson as store manager, they told me the wired money were available, and of course I withdrew the money. Right there, at the counter, they didn’t even tell me “hey, guy, you have already a negative balance, are you going to take care of it?” And of course I didn’t have any reason to ask because I knew my balance was positive, and couldn’t imagine they had already applied a $36 fee for NO REASON! Next,... More...

  • Account Freeze

Suntrust bank has frozen my accounts. I am a professional tax preparer who have prepared a few family members and friends returns and had their refund deposited into my account upon their request so I can receive my fee and also so they can receive their refund faster. Since Suntrust has ran into tax fraud I was advised from a Suntrust financial advisor rep. to open a business account to conduct my business. I did as such but a few days later I was out using my debit card and was told from the cashier that my card was unauthorized. I called Suntrust customer service to find out that my... More...

With the crazy economic times, I emptied my 401K to save for my daughter's college fund in a Suntrust Money Market. I left work to raise her. And last week I found out that Suntrust let some scam artist under the name of EME Marketing steal $1800.00 from my 2 year old daugther!!! I filed a fraud report, filled out a 35 page affidavit on the issue, spent 5 hours on the phone, traveled back and forth to the bank to stop the withdrawals and still SUNTRUST WILL NOT GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK!!! SUNTRUST IS LETTING PEOPLE STEAL FROM CHILDREN!! Someone put in $350 in my account and then took it... More...

  • Lost Money

Recently, SunTrust Bank lost over $400 of my money and charged me more than $200 in overdraft fees. They say the mistake was mine. After complaining about it at three banks and checking my records repeatedly, I still don't know what happened to my money. To make matters worse, two weeks after my account recovered, I learned that SunTrust de-activated my debit card without telling me. I have no trust in SunTrust. More...

  • SunTrust Denies I Ever Had Overdraft Protection

I'm very unhappy with SunTrust at the moment. A year and a half ago I opened a checking account with my savings as overdraft protection. Now I'm being hit with overdraft fees totalling 385.00 USD, which should not have occured if my overdraft protection was working properly. SunTrust told me I had to prove that there is a bank error as they are simply denying the fact that the account was originally opened with overdraft protection. I'm furious. After speaking with five customer service reps, the 'recovery' department, and the bank manager, I'm told the... More...

Fortunately I do not bank with Suntrust, but I do have two auto loans with you. I must say that it has been the worst experience that I have ever had, being harrassed by the collection department. Both autos are 2005 and there has never been a missed payment. However, being that the loans were due about ten days apart, there are days when its been paid at the last minute. I just went to my credit union and refinanced one of my trucks. It is a shame that after talking with your office about the ten day payoff I've received a number of calls from your collection office. How do you run a... More...

  • Complaint

I have been running 30 days late on my car payment. I admit this. This happened because in November 2007 I requested a one-month extension on my car loan. I was having major surgery and my husband wanted to be with me in Nashville. With limited resources, I had to request an extension. At that time, Suntrust said NOTHING to me about having to request in writing (some form) for payments to be resumed. In fact, in the request that I faxed to Suntrust, I asked for the extension for December but requested that payments be resumed in January. Now, take in consideration my husband... More...

  • One of Worst Banks

I have been a member of SunTrust for more that 15 years. This is the worst Bank, they charge outrageous fees for any and everything, have no loyalty to middle class or poor account holders because they are the ones who are hit with the fees that can be avoid on many terms, because SunTrust doesn't approve many loans for people who are not on the scale of which they think you should be (think about it) they just hit them with fee after fee knowing that this will only damage and leave the middle and poor class account holders in the rears and owing monies that they truly don't have... • I am appalled at the overdraft...

I am appalled at the overdraft fees at this bank. They are outrageous. They are stealing money from the poor to middle class who are having enough problems in this economy. Shame on them for praying on the hard working working- class family. All banks and other money institutions should be reviewed and the cost for services revised. President Bush would be wise to take a look at this situation and do something about it. I do not know how their executives can sleep at night. Shame, shame shame. More...
